My skin and this new climate!

My skin and this new climate!

The water out here is different! After a shower I am left feeling so dry, I don’t think my skin has ever appreciated lotions and body butters so much since leaving New York. One thing I wish someone told me before moving out here was “the water will dry out your skin”.

Now that I figured out why my dry skin type was really showing out since we moved, I quickly revised and tweaked my skincare routine. I am still a Fenty Skin lover and still use that system, but I have also incorporated some other products into my routine to help restore, replenish, and hydrate my skin. Serums, masks, eye creams/gels and overnight creams has been my skin’s best friends. Below I will break down what I have been using lately.

Serum

Glow Recipe – Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum

“This silky water gel serum features a unique blend of 3 types of plum, hyaluronic acid, and vegan collagen. This formula contains 5 weights of hyaluronic acid to target different layers of the skin for deep hydration.”

This serum has come in clutch these last couple of months. While the Fenty Skin Fat Water is a toner/serum hybrid it needs a bit more hydration out here. This serum does just that, it hydrates and visibly plumps up my skin while also adding a subtle glow. With this product a little goes a long way. I put this on after applying my Fat Water daily.

Masks

Grace & Stella – Anti-Wrinkle & Energizing Face Mask

“It’s like an energy drink for your face!”

This gel “sheet” mask is like an energy drink for your face. Its hydrating and revitalizing. After using this mask my skin looks glowy and glossy but is not sticky or tight once the essence dries.

111Skin – Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask

“The ultimate pre-event mask; this hydrogel formula infuses the skin with radiance boosting ingredients for a glowing complexion.”

I honestly throw this mask on a day when I want my skin to feel luxurious. This mask is leaving my skin supple, refreshed, and visibly plump. It reduces inflammation and soothes the skin.

Eye creams & gel patches

The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and tends to dry out rather easily. To combat this, I have been using:

Fenty Skin – Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel Cream

“Puffiness and dark circles—chill: Fake a flash nap and instantly wake up tired-looking eyes with this 2-in-1 eye cream and concealer primer.”

I like this eye gel cream. I tend to use it mostly in the morning, so I see it reduce my under-eye puffiness. Its super hydrating and soothing.

Sephora Collection – Clean Eye Mask

“Each of the 91% naturally sourced, vegan ingredients in this five-minute bio-cellulose eye mask target under-eye concerns like dryness and dark circles.”

I love these clean eye mask from Sephora. They are very affordable and are nice under eye boosters. I like to wear them while I do my eyeshadow.

Overnight cream

Fenty Skin – Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Gel- Cream

“Bounce back after one night. Wake up to juicy skin: nourished, renewed, glowing. This rich gel-cream moisturizer instantly hydrates, reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. In just one week, pores and dark spots look better, too. Keep using it, and we swear your skin has never looked so juicy-smooth.”

I will be honest at first, I did not like this product! Turns out I was applying entirely too much. Now I enjoy this overnight gel-cream hybrid. I do not use it every night but on the nights that I do, I notice a difference in the morning.

Bonus product that I have incorporated into my body skincare routine is Tree Hut Shea Butter Sugar Scrub in Coconut Lime. 2-3 time a week I exfoliating my body using this scrub and I must say I noticed a difference in the softness, smoothness, and overall appearance of my skin.
